Forever ago, the poor soul Az Evermore sat in a cell with a life sentence. Whatever and whoever had imprisoned him are details lost to time. Despite her circumstances, despair did not overcome him. With what little he had behind bars, she struck sparks of imagination and honed talents to perfection, their knowledge and ability expanding exponentionally until they truly believed that they could do anything... And so be it!Transforming into an all powerful celestial Psyki, he dubbed himself the Astronomical Foole and began keeping an eye over history from the cosmos. Despite being benevolent at heart, he holds off on miracles in hopes that many more humans might someday achieve her level of self actualization.Once the world ended, the Foole simply created it anew, casting himself back into it as a mere human so that he may experience the joy of ascension over again. He has done this infinitely many times, and will do it infinitely many more. When the world begins anew, it is natural that things play out differently each and every time. Patterns occur, but true consistency is impossible. As such, one will notice discrepancies both big and small as they examine the world of Thoutalia... Depictions of its inhabitants could be from any number of alternate universes.
• Foole being spelled with an E is a fanciful touch he added for fun
• The Astronomical Foole has a particular fondness for certain individuals across their infinitely many lives
• As an all powerful entity I might be capable of breaching the barrier between us on occassion
Deep in the Entanglen Lands rests the humble village of Stonehome. Rich with resources but bereft of warriors, the people of Stonehome were subjected to violent oppression. However, one fateful night a mysterious traveler arrived. He was shown an astonishing kindness by these downtrodden villagers, so he swore to protect them. With nothing but a body, a blade, and a promise, the traveler singlehandedly slew every encroaching enemy of Stonehome. He succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter, being buried by a stone which now held his sword. Despite death, this vow to protect kind spirits persisted, living on in his blade as he awaits Sworne Heroes worthy of wielding him.Among the first of the Sworne Heroes is Vixalina Lovelot, a crass adventurer of the Lost Times wherein Psyki were plentiful and lived freely alongside humans. Regardless of her bad reputation and crude fighting style, she managed to make good use of the sword across her countless misadventures. Most famous of all Sworne Heroes is Efelle Everglow, an orphan child who wielded the blade against an apocalyptic cult. As a pacifist, they made use of the blade in all sorts of nonviolent manners.
• The Sworne blade reforges itself to suit the style of the current Sworne Hero
• Vixalina Lovelot pulled the Sworne Blade from his stone by overriding his better judgment with feminine charms
• Efelle Everglow was mute so the Sworne Blade often spoke for them
Psyology is the theory that belief, superstition, passion, emotion, and other mental qualities, can form or transform matter. Most notably, it posits that these mental qualities can create beings known as Psyki. Despite its historical and cultural significance, experts consider Psyology a pseudoscience or religion rather than a legitimate theory.Klarazelle Steelnerve, a self proclaimed Psyologist from Modern Times, had devoted her academic career to proving the reality of Psyology. During her tumultuous tenure at Highlife University she began developing a device dubbed Psi Tech, which was made to detect and catalogue various Psyki. Her peers and superiors alike considered the concept absurd, and so funding was never granted. However, through feverish passion and genuine belief in its potential, the device took on a life of its own... Ironically, it had become a Psyki itself, though its many quirks rendered its sentience and supposed capabilities unconvincing. Upon leaving university, Klarazelle's career quickly spiraled into chaos and controversy.Decades later, having been left in the hands of an ex husband on accident, Psi Tech was pawned off to a to a junk shop where it would be purchased by a young Bibi Gingerli. The Psyology obsessed nerd has gone on to have a series of Psyki hunting adventures, aided by the beloved device and a few freaky friends. While Psi Tech has found a happy home in Bibi's pocket, Klarazelle would do anything to take it back... This, unfortunately, has made them into sworn enemies.
• Psi Tech is regularly uncertain or incorrect about information due to the ambigious nature of Psyki
• The mascot character that embodies Psi Tech was doodled by Klarazelle during a dull physics class
• Klarazelle treats Psi Tech as an artificial son while Bibi treat him as a best friend
Long ago, a fortunate man devised a scheme to swindle money from the superstitious. He would claim to see the future, and sucker money out of those gullible enough to believe him. Though intended as a con, his wisdom made many of these predictions turn true, and so the masses revered him.As his influence grew, this knowledge was no longer refined to his own mind. It would cast itself upon clear surfaces, showing visions of futures far and near to all those that sought his council. With this newfound power in his grasp, he could not help but wonder... When and why would the world end?One gaze was all it took to shatter his mind, corrupting him into a horrific shadowy Psyki dubbed the Gloaming Saege. From then on, he has waited for the end to come and put him at peace, refusing to entertain any fools who attempt to halt certain demise. While the Gloaming Saege is commonly considered a cautionary figure, some see him as a great god who may somehow save them from the impending apocalypse. The Gloaming Shards cult of the Ancient Times are the most prominent instance of such, with their charismatic leader Astrael Kneverend gathering a sizable following through proclaiming himself a prophet of the Gloaming Saege.
• The physical form of the Gloaming Saege is everchanging and difficult to perceive
• The Gloaming Saege is considered to be a counterpart to the Astronomical Foole
• Astrael Kneverend had ulterior motives and never truly believed himself to be a prophet for the Gloaming Saege
Existing outside of time and space, the Inner I eludes explanation, purpose, metaphor, and whatever else an intelligent entity might attempt to tame it with. The triangular entity which makes itself known in every aspect of the experience is regarded as the face or core of the Inner I.Unwilling to engage in the supernatural speculation of Psyology, mental health professionals consider Inner I experiences to be an unusual form of psychosis. Those affected by repeated or severe experiences with this entity often refer to themselves as having Inner I syndrome. Most are left mortified or disoriented, though some, such as the infamous artist Varisole Lashe, come to see the Inner I as their true home.Early into her childhood and late into the night, Varisole experienced several lifetimes within the Inner I. Upon awakening, she feverishly devoted herself to recapturing its absurd truths and beauties through painting. Rest, replenishment, and socialization were all neglected as she desperately attempted to relive and elucidate her experiences. While she has never absolutely returned to the Inner I, glimpses of it occasionally cloud her vision.
• The name Inner I has no known origin or meaning
• Drugs and near death experiences are among the more common triggers for Inner I experiences
• According to her parents Varisole Lashe was once an exceptionally normal child
Thoutalia is full of mysterious shapes and structures, many of which lack certain explanation. Artistic expression, ancient civilizations, natural oddities, and other reasonable theories are often posited by experts, but to some, the only sensical explanations are out of this world. And so, Spacecrafters began to form from these conspiracies.Spacecrafters are playful in nature, descending upon Thoutalia play and express themselves under the cover of night. Very few humans have had close encounters with Spacecrafters, as their Mothercrafters are wary of our destructive capabilities. Bhetti Bloometti is among those few humans, having won the trust of a Mothercrafter by fixing a damaged Spacecrafter encountered on her family farm. The girl was showered with otherwordly gifts as thanks, most notable among them being Solar Flower seeds. Selling these strange flowers wound up saving the Bloometti family farm from foreclosure. While botanical experts were baffled by the plant, they had no proper evidence that solar flowers came from outer space.Bhetti now plays with a crew of Spacecrafters every night, creating all sorts of art and chaos across rural areas of the Capitalus Lands.
• Whether the creations of Spacecrafters are purely artistic or intended as a form of communication is often debated
• The Bloometti family farm is also home to Bhetti's mother and kid sister
• The head of every solar flower contains a bit of the cosmos
Self image and reality will always contrast in some degree. When this contrast becomes severe, the contrasting image may begin to take on a life of its own. This sentient alter ego, seen only through reflective surfaces, is known as a Mirrorian.Mirrorians are not strictly a delusion of the beholder, as anything they affect in a reflection is equally affected in reality. Unruly Mirrorians may destroy objects, or harm their beholder. Those who carefully curate their image can take advantage of this power, such as the infamous performer slash private eye Maximillion Magic did.Maximillion Magic made a name for himself through comedy, song, and whatever else came to mind while he was up on stage. Every aspect of his variety act made use of Maxine Magic, his Mirrorian lover, who was assumed to be some simple magic trick by most audiences. Maxine was formed from the distinct contrast of his stage persona and his true sensitive self. When Max is offstage, he and Maxine investigate all sorts of Psyological matters across his home city of New Shazopolis. His antics have put him on the bad side of the law and criminal organizations alike, making for a rather thrilling private life.
• Whether a Mirrorian reflects your true self or the self imposed upon you will vary
• Maxine Magic began to form early on in Max Magic's street performing days
• Max and Maxine both have a habit of crossdressing
Maintaining one's beauty is a struggle against the combined forces of nature and time. Succeeding in such a struggle requires sacrifices, and those sacrifices for the sake of beauty may manifest themselves as Innerlacings.Innerlacings can be stitched through skin for a variety of aesthetic effects, but they all come at an expense. One could stitch themselves a fabulous head of hair or a slimmer waist, though they may lose some senses or their mind in the process.Despite being one of the most commonly formed Psyki, their existence remains obscure. This is due to Innerlacing marks only being visible to other Innerlaced individuals. In communities centered around fashion or sex, the presence of Innerlacings is to be expected. One such community would be the modeling scene, brimming with Innerlaced individuals like the perpetually insecure Mimichelle Raindroppe. Having gone unnoticed her whole career, a growing desperation began to manifest in the form of Innerlacings. She sporadically applies them and suffers a variety of bizarre drawbacks as a result, often failing to balance beauty and dignity.
• Innerlacings can be temporary or permanent depending on the circumstances
• Innerlaced individuals often utilize the needles of their Innerlacings as jewelry
• Mimichelle Raindroppe only began forming Innerlacings when she hit her forties
Before mankind came to be, dinosaurs were the apex beings of Thoutalia. Unfortunately, their reign came to an abrupt end as a meteor struck the planet, leaving nothing behind but bones, oil, and a primal anguish. This anguish would form the Fossilorn, considered by some to be the first Psyki in history. Whether this was due to dinosaurs being intelligent enough, or due to the sheer intensity of the emotions produced, this stands as one of the only known instances of inhuman minds producing a Psyki. The Fossilorn is a hivemind of sorts, containing the lingering desperation of countless dinosaurs who cling onto a world which moved past them. Their behavior, temper, and form is unpredictable on account of so many species being lumped together.Their body is comprised of semi solidified oil which morphs to resemble various species. All of it's waking time is spent slinking through barren lands and caverns, in search of oil and fossils to adorn itself with. Whether this is an act of mourning or an effort grow in power is uncertain. In the Great Times, ditzy archaeology student Dilulu Digamosa happened upon the Fossilorn. He took a liking to the poor beast, and set off to aid them in acquiring pieces of their past. The Psyology Museum attempted to acquire it and prove its existence, though Dilulu fought against the idea and did all he could to cover up their tracks.
• Upon exhausting itself the Fossilorn will shed its resources and fall into a deep sleep
• The Fossilorn took a liking to Dilulu's primally carefree nature
• Dilulu Digamosa did not know that his collar accessory was intended for dogs when he purchased it
All sorts of supernatural matters tend to be forgotten or obscured across the course of history, leaving the world with so little whimsy. Psyki, Psykiks, and Psyology are no exception. However, standing against the sands of time, the forces of ignorance, and all common sense, is the Babblebook library. Or, as a select few know it, the Psybrary.Operating under the guise of a simple smalltown library, the Psybrary is secretly home to sentient encyclopedias of Psyological matters, known as the EnPsyclopedias. Each has a unique subject matter, such as art, technology, death, cookery, or particular time periods. Their personalities vary as well.Their sentience is credited to the original author's vivid writing, which literally brought the pages to life. Each Psybrarian is tasked with expanding the contents of their assigned EnPsyclopedia through research and fieldwork, though they must also perform mundane desk work to maintain the facade of a normal library. The hiring process of the Psybrary is handled by a lineage of mysterious directors who seek suitable employees through the Infinite EnPsyclopedia, a catalogue of previous universes that lets past lives serve as a resumé. Hundreds of Psybrarians have been hired over the course of history, so one can always expect an eclectic cast of characters within the unassuming walls of the Psybrary.
• The original author of the EnPsyclopedias was motivated by disdain for the Psilence movement
• Every EnPsyclopedia has a nickname bestowed upon it by its current Psybrarian
• Psyki conjured from the pages of EnPsyclopedias are approximations rather than the real deal

Psyki require complex passions, emotions, and beliefs to form, making the human mind uniquely capable of creating them. This is considered a blessing by most of those who believe in Psyology, though some see it as an absurd instability which threatens existence.Long ago in the Lost Times, Psyki lived freely alongside humans. Psyology was not a belief, rather it was a universally understood truth. While it brought many wonders into the world, it brought just as many dangers, as the mind is capable of incredible goods and evils alike. Grea Availle, seemingly coming from nowhere, decided that humankind was not capable of wielding this power responsibly.Their efforts to suppress Psyology started subtle, with the destruction of certain texts and elimination of minor Psyki. In time, their anti Psyological rhetoric had gotten a foothold among the more fearful peoples of Thoutalia, resulting in a sizable following for what became known as the Psilence movement. As their influence grew, they brought landmarks to ruin and slayed godly Psyki. Violent as it often was, this was all done in the name of protecting mankind from itself.Eventually, this put an end to the Lost Times, and to Psyology as a universally known truth. Throughout the remainder of history the Psilence persist as brutal crusaders, secret agents, and all other manners of organizations.
• Grea Availle and followers of Psilence are traditionally depicted without faces
• Those who have taken the vow of Psilence are forbidden from displaying any superstition or emotion
• Locating and destroying the Psybrary is one of the longstanding goals of Psilence
